Embodied Values

At Project Touchline, values are not simply discussed. They are seen in everyday actions, relationships and decisions across school life.

These moments become opportunities to practice values naturally through behaviour, relationships and reflection. Over time, repeated habits and responses begin shaping healthier relationships across school life.

Children do not simply hear values in Collective Worship — they begin to live them out through everyday interactions both on and off the sports field.

In the pass not received.

In the mistake forgiven.

In the child included.

In the teammate encouraged.

In the silence after frustration.

In the decision to begin again.

That is where values become real.

Not every child thrives through traditional classroom learning. However, many children discover confidence through movement, teamwork and practical participation. For some children, PE becomes the first place where they begin feeling:

This is especially important for children who may struggle elsewhere within school life.

Children encounter encouragement, frustration, teamwork, honesty and resilience in real time. These moments become opportunities to practice values naturally through behaviour, relationships and reflection. Over time, repeated habits and responses begin shaping healthier relationships across school life.

Stronger teamwork, healthier friendships, improved confidence, calmer transitions between lessons, greater cooperation during activities and increased participation in PE. Many schools also observe children beginning to support one another more naturally beyond PE lessons.

“Project Touchline has strengthened and enhanced our school’s Christian values and its unique Christian distinctiveness achieved through the partnership of sport and faith. The ideas taught, the ethos of the project and the rugby games will continue throughout the school.”
