SIAMS Impact
Supporting Schools in Living Out Christian Vision Through Sport, Worship & Relationships
Project Touchline helps Church schools demonstrate their Christian vision in lived, practical, and visible ways.
Through Collective Worship, rugby, cricket, prayer, reflection and relationships, the programme supports schools in embedding Christian values across everyday school life — moving beyond policies and displays into the heart of school culture.
Since 2018, Project Touchline has partnered with around 150 schools across England and Wales. Growing evidence of impact is reflected in SIAMS inspection outcomes, headteacher feedback and sustained changes in school culture.
Supporting the SIAMS Framework
Project Touchline aligns closely with the 2025 SIAMS Framework, strengthening schools across all seven Inspection Questions (IQs).
The programme particularly supports:
- Christian vision in action
- Spiritual development
- Collective Worship
- Courageous leadership
- Relationships and wellbeing
- Christian distinctiveness
- Community and belonging
- Reflection and prayer
Rather than treating faith as separate from daily school life, Project Touchline helps schools connect vision, values and practice in authentic and relational ways.
Christian Vision Lived Out Daily
One of the strongest themes in SIAMS inspections is the importance of vision becoming lived reality.
Project Touchline helps schools move values:
- From posters into practice
- From language into relationships
- From worship into everyday behaviour
Through sport and worship, children experience repeated opportunities to live out Christian values such as:
- Forgiveness
- Courage
- Perseverance
- Teamwork
- Encouragement
- Compassion
This embodied approach strengthens authentic Christian distinctiveness across the whole school community.
Collective Worship & Spiritual Development
Collective Worship is central to the programme. Worship themes are intentionally linked with prayer, reflection, scripture, PE experiences and school values.
Many partner schools have developed and sustained:
- Lunchtime prayer clubs
- Pupil-led worship
- Reflective prayer spaces
- Worship leadership opportunities for children
This helps embed spiritual development beyond formal worship sessions and strengthens faith across the wider life of the school.

Lasting School Impact
Schools frequently report:
- Stronger pupil relationships
- Increased confidence and encouragement
- Deeper spiritual reflection
- Healthier attitudes towards challenge
- More consistent values language
- Stronger worship participation
- Calmer and more reflective school environments
Many schools also continue developing prayer clubs, worship leadership and reflective spaces long after the programme finishes.
More Than Inspection Preparation
Project Touchline is not simply about preparing for inspection.
Its deeper purpose is to help schools cultivate communities where:
- Christian vision shapes relationships
- Worship connects with daily life
- Children experience genuine belonging
- Values are lived consistently
- Spiritual development becomes visible and natural
SIAMS outcomes then become the fruit of long-term culture and lived practice rather than short-term preparation.
Rooted in Flourishing
At its heart, Project Touchline exists to nurture the flourishing of the whole child — physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.
Through worship, sport, prayer and relationships, schools are supported in becoming communities where children, staff and families can experience “life in all its fullness.”
