Church & School Partnerships

Not a visit.
A shared life.

Project Touchline helps church and school become familiar parts of one another’s lives—through worship, sport, prayer, reflection and relationships children experience every week.

The goal is not another event in the calendar. It is a relationship children can recognise, trust and eventually help to lead.

Children do not experience a partnership agreement.

They experience people who keep showing up.

Church-school partnership becomes meaningful when a child sees the same trusted people in worship, on the playground, in Prayer Club and in the ordinary moments of school life.

That regular presence changes the relationship. Clergy become familiar. Faith becomes conversational. Prayer becomes accessible. Church and school stop operating alongside one another and begin creating a shared culture of belonging.

One day each week · five weeks

A partnership
children can feel.

Lasting partnership is not built in a single visit. By returning on the same day each week, worship, sport, prayer and reflection become a familiar rhythm through which trust, belonging and participation can grow.

Week 01

Connection begins.

On the chosen day, children meet the team and experience the first joined-up movement through worship, sport, prayer and reflection.

Connection
Week 02

Recognition replaces introduction.

The same people return on the same day. Children recognise the pattern, remember the story and begin to participate with greater confidence.

Familiarity
Week 03

Trust opens the conversation.

Familiarity creates room for deeper questions, honest prayer and meaningful choices as Christian values are practised through play.

Trust
Week 04

Children begin to lead.

Pupils welcome others, contribute reflections, encourage teammates and take increasing ownership of the shared experience.

Ownership
Week 05

The relationship outlasts the programme.

The final session is not an ending. School and church now share the language, trust and confidence to carry the relationship forward locally.

Belonging
One day. Five returns. A relationship with somewhere to grow. The day is agreed locally and remains consistent throughout the five-week journey.
The heart of partnership

Faith becomes credible
when relationship becomes visible.

Children see adults worship, play, listen, pray, serve and remain—together. Christian vision becomes something they encounter in people, not simply something written on a wall.

The space between

Two communities.
One shared ground.

Project Touchline does not ask either church or school to become something else. It creates practical experiences where their different strengths can meet around the flourishing of children.
