Sport, Values and Faith
Project Touchline is a pioneering initiative that seamlessly integrates physical education, creative arts, and Christian values and worship. Rooted in the message of John 10:10, it promotes “life in all its fullness” by encouraging pupils to flourish physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
The programme provides a holistic educational experience that spans Physical Education (PE), Religious Education (RE), and Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural (SMSC) development. Closely aligned with national curriculum expectations and school improvement frameworks, it supports pupils in developing character, resilience, and a sense of purpose. Through sport, reflection, worship, and creative expression, Project Touchline helps young people engage deeply with Christian values while fostering well-rounded growth and a meaningful sense of abundance in life and learning.

This ensures its relevance and credibility across a wide range of educational settings. Its adaptable framework aligns with both the English National Curriculum and the Curriculum for Wales, as well as bespoke Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) curricula. This flexibility allows schools to embed Project Touchline in ways that meaningfully reflect their own context and ethos, while maintaining a consistent focus on holistic development.
At its heart, the programme encourages pupils to experience “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10), fostering personal growth, character development, and spiritual awareness. By integrating sport, reflection, worship, and values-based learning, Project Touchline supports schools in enriching their curriculum and ethos, making it a versatile and impactful approach to holistic education.
The programme is designed as a sustainable model, focused on long-term impact by equipping teachers with high-quality training and durable resources that can be used consistently over time. This reduces reliance on external input and empowers educators to deliver confident, values-driven teaching independently. In doing so, it enables pupils to engage deeply with sport, reflection, and learning, helping them develop character, purpose, and a fuller understanding of life in line with Christian teaching.
Widespread acclaim and endorsement
Project Touchline has received widespread recognition, with endorsements from Anglican Bishops and Diocesan Directors of Education, including those in Swansea and Brecon. With strong support from the Church, the programme has also gathered positive testimonials from over 150 schools, all of which highlight its alignment with the principle of “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).
Schools report improvements in pupil behaviour, stronger spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) outcomes, and a more positive sense of community and ethos. By integrating physical activity, spiritual reflection, and creative expression, the programme fosters holistic development that supports both academic progress and personal growth. In doing so, it reflects the Christian vision of abundant life described in John 10:10.

Proven effectiveness and adaptability
Project Touchline is a valuable asset for dioceses and educational trusts. It is designed to meet a range of curriculum requirements while promoting a values-based education centred on “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). Through a strong support structure, including training and accessible resources, the programme delivers measurable impact and long-term sustainability. This makes it a high-quality solution for schools committed to holistic pupil development. By integrating sport, reflection, and Christian values, Project Touchline helps schools nurture confident, reflective, and well-rounded learners who are encouraged to flourish in every aspect of life.
