“It was extremely encouraging to hear about the successful delivery of the programme within thirteen Church in Wales primary schools. The programme’s creative approach to teaching values as part of Religion, Values and Ethics (RVE) through relating it to a particular religion and faith story and providing opportunities for learners to develop their understanding through playing rugby, as supported by the Welsh Government.”
“This approach also provides an opportunity to support learners’ physical, mental, and emotional health. The Curriculum framework, overseen by the Welsh Government, aims to support learners develop healthy and active lifestyles that promote good physical health and well-being throughout their lives. It also helps them to understand and appreciate how the different components of health and well-being are interconnected.”
“It is critical that learners have positive experiences of sport. Such experiences help them to value physical activity. Schools, backed by the Welsh Government, are empowered to design their curriculum to select a range of sports and activities to teach. The selected sports should meet the needs of their learners. Furthermore, they should be both enjoyable and meaningful.”
