What we believe

Core Beliefs of Project Touchline.
Project Touchline’s beliefs are deeply rooted in its mission to integrate Christian faith and values with education and personal development through the medium of sport, particularly rugby and physical education (PE).
  1. Christian Values as Foundational
    • Project Touchline believes that Christian values—such as respect, love, forgiveness, courage, and integrity—are essential for personal growth and community building. These values are not just supplementary but central to its programs, underpinning every activity from sports coaching to collective worship.
  2. Sport as a Vehicle for Spiritual and Moral Education
    • We hold that sport, particularly team sports like rugby and cricket are an effective and engaging way to teach life lessons and Christian principles. We believes physical activity can make abstract values tangible and relatable for young people.
  3. Holistic Development of Children
    • Project Touchline believes in nurturing the whole child—spiritually, physically, and emotionally—rather than focusing solely on academic or athletic achievement. It sees sport and worship as complementary tools to foster well-rounded individuals.
  4. Inclusivity and Equality
    • The programme believes in making its activities accessible and beneficial to all children, regardless of background or ability. It emphasizes equality as a core principle, ensuring that its games and teachings resonate with diverse groups.
  5. The Power of Community and Connection
    • Project Touchline believes that faith and sport can bridge gaps between schools, churches, and families, strengthening community ties. It views these connections as vital for spiritual flourishing and societal good.
  6. Faith in Action
    • We believe that Christian faith should be lived out practically, not just taught. Our work is a form of evangelism and ministry, where actions on the sports field and in worship reflect Gospel teachings.
  7. Long-Term Impact Over Short-Term Wins
    • Project Touchline believes in creating sustainable change rather than fleeting experiences. It invests in legacy projects like prayer clubs and instructional videos to ensure its influence endures beyond its direct involvement.
Foundational Influence
Our founder Chris Andrew’s dual expertise in education and sports coaching, paired with his ministerial roles within the Church of England, means that faith and physicality are not separate spheres but can be powerfully united. His work as a professional sports coach since 2011 and partnerships with dioceses (e.g., Swansea and Brecon and Mumias in Kenya) reinforce this integrative vision. These beliefs manifest in:
  • Programme Design: Five-week courses blending worship and sport, tailored to church school ethos.
  • ** Partnerships:** Collaboration with dioceses and the Church of England to align with broader Christian mission goals.
  • Outcomes: Emphasis on both immediate engagement (e.g., fun games) and lasting effects (e.g., prayer clubs)
Conclusion

Project Touchline believes that Christian values, taught through the universal language of sport, can transform young lives and communities. It holds that this approach—rooted in faith, inclusivity, and practical application—offers a unique and effective way to educate, inspire, and connect. Our beliefs shine through our mission to pioneer a new model of Christian values-driven education within a holistic framework.
